Masashi Takahashi

I am a PhD candidate at the Smeal College of Business, Pennsylvania State University.

My research focuses on asset pricing, financial intermediation, and real estate. In particular, I study how financial intermediaries shape asset prices in fixed-income and real estate markets, using natural experiments and structural models such as demand system asset pricing.

Prior to joining Smeal, I served as a consultant at Deloitte, advising financial institutions in Tokyo, Japan.

I am on the academic job market in 2026–2027. In summer 2026, I was a Dissertation Fellow at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C.
